Respect Personal Space
☐ Give others plenty of room when choosing your campsite.
☐ Avoid driving or walking through someone else’s camp.
☐ Remember that many people come outdoors seeking peace and quiet.
☐ Respect privacy, even when campers appear friendly.
Introductions and Visiting
☐ Stand outside the immediate camp area before calling out.
☐ Wait for an invitation before entering someone’s camp.
☒ Bring your own chair when visiting other camps.
☒ Bring your own refreshments when visiting other camps.
☐ Understand that not everyone wants visitors.
☐ Respect boundaries without taking them personally.
☐ Be friendly, but never push yourself into someone’s space.
Noise Awareness
☐ Keep music and conversations at reasonable levels.
☐ Observe quiet hours whenever possible.
☐ Avoid unnecessary generator use late at night or early in the morning.
☐ Remember that sound travels farther outdoors than many people realize.
Pets
☐ Keep pets under control and on a leash when appropriate
☐ Clean up after them.
☐ Respect that not everyone is comfortable around animals.
☐ Prevent excessive barking whenever possible.
Shared Spaces
☐ Leave bathrooms, dump stations, and water sources clean.
☐ Pick up litter, even if it is not yours.
☐ Leave campsites better than you found them.
☐ Help protect public lands for future visitors.
Helping Others
☐ Offer help when appropriate.
☐ Accept help graciously when needed.
☐ Share knowledge without acting like an expert.
☐ Understand that everyone is still learning.
Remember
☐ Kindness costs nothing.
☐ Boundaries are healthy.
☐ Courtesy helps preserve the lifestyle many of us value.
☐ The person camped nearby today may become a lifelong friend tomorrow.
